United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA)

UKATA is the largest association and professional body for people interested in and practising Transactional Analysis (TA) within the UK.

Their Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Organisational Consultants and Educators are trained and practise using TA as their modality of choice, and are registered by UKATA.

As a professional body, UKATA monitor standards of competence and ethical practise for both trainee and qualified Transactional Analysts as well as offering a range of services for members.

Student Membership

United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

UKCP  are the leading organisation for the education, training, accreditation and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors in the UK. 
UKCP exists to promote and maintain high standards of practice of psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling for the benefit of the public throughout the United Kingdom.

UKCP membership includes over 8,000 registered therapists and more than 70 training and accrediting organisations. Their individual members work privately, in public health or third sector organisations offering a wide variety of psychotherapeutic approaches.

UKCP hold the national register of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors which only includes practitioners who meet exacting standards and training requirements and who agree to abide by UKCP's ethical standards.


Trainees at the YTA Institute can appy for student membership of UKCP.
